A BIG THANK YOU for creating a magical wedding for Adrian and I. We have had only good comments made to us about the wedding and in particular the outstanding food (many people said it was better than any meal they had had in the port so far!) and the very friendly service!
Nicola and Chris - thank you for all your efforts pre the wedding.
Chris - thank you for your friendly nature and big effort on the day. I know it must have been difficult with the unpredicatable weather!
We will certainly be recommending you to anyone we know wanting to get married in Queensland and again MASSIVE THANK YOU's for making our special day be a dream come true.
All in all we and all our guests had a ball in Port Douglas and totally lOVED the wedding. Thank you for making this possible.

“The chicken was amazing! Everybody raved about the whole wedding saying it was the best wedding they had ever been to, even my dad who is supposed to be impartial to both myself and my sisters said it was the best he has been to. All guests from age 15 to 80 loved it and we can’t believe how lucky we got with the weather. Such an amazing day, we smiled so much on the Saturday that our cheeks hurt on the Sunday.
I would highly recommend PD Catering and also spending much longer up in Port Douglas to enjoy the fantastic weather and chilled out atmosphere that only Port can deliver.
Was there a particular staff member who stood out with their Customer Service?
Nicola, was most helpful on the day and in the lead up particular in the week while we were up there. Having to organise a wedding from overseas was particularly tricky and we found ourselves stressed out about everything else we had to organise except the wedding event itself. We just knew that it was going to be fine with Nicola in charge.” |

Everyone commented on the food – said it was absolutely fantastic. I would have eaten a heap more if my dress allowed it!! J I’m still hearing comments on how good it tasted. Oh and as for the croquemboche (probably spelled wrong!!) – all I can say is OH MY GOD!!!! Heaven covered in chocolate!! That has got to be the most amazing tasting, spectacular looking wedding cake in the history of weddings. To die for!!!
The service was fantastic too – one of my guests said she’d never been so well attended to. Her drink was always replenished and not once did she feel she had to look for anything.
As for the set up – what can I say? Everyone was raving about how everything was set up and how nothing was overlooked. I’m getting kudos for my attention to detail. I keep telling them the only thing I did was turn up on the day – that all the attention to detail was from Port Douglas Catering!!
It really was an amazing day. My guests have used such an array of words to describe it that I can’t remember them all but they include spectacular, beautiful, romantic among others.
As I said on the day – I couldn’t have been a bridezilla if I tried – you guys had everything down pat and perfectly planned and organized. I heard about you from word of mouth and I will most definitely be doing the same as, I am sure, will all of my guests.
I never had a dream wedding in my head as many girls do but I couldn’t have dreamed up a better one if I tried!
Was there a particular staff member who stood out with their Customer Service? Everyone I dealt with was great – I guess those of you I had more contact with were the names that stood out (i.e. Cameron, Julie, Nicola) but absolutely everyone was great. At one point I had put an almost dead drink on the bar (I suspect I was applauding someone) and when I turned around to pick it up it was replaced by a fresh one and the guys behind the bar nodded to let me know it was mine. It might be a small thing but it stood out in my head because it showed the attention being paid on the day and it was indicative of the overall experience. |

I have completed the feedback and attached it, I have highlighted my ratings in red which are all 5 as everything was just perfect.
Im the youngest of 7 children to get married and I had all of my brothers and sisters say that my wedding topped them all.
My brother -in -law reckons Ive ruined everything for him as his 2 daughters will now not settle for anything less than what I did! Lucky they are only 10 and 12 years - he's got plently of time to save!!
I love you all, I just wish we could do it again, it really was the best day of our lives.
I hope I have another chance to deal with Port Douglas Catering again.

the standard of food, presentation and friendly staff made our wedding day more than We could have wished for.
Harry and I have been to many of the top restaurants through out the world and the food that you presented on our special evening was nothing less than FIRST CLASS.
The setting was spectacular; we will be forwarding you some photos when we have them. The staffs were always so friendly and helpful.

Thankyou for your email. We had such an amazing week in Port Douglas. Our wedding day was amazing and a lot fun!
Thankyou to you especially and all your staff for putting on such a wnderful, magical reception. Everything was perfect and as it turns out, I really preferred being right near the water and the marquee. Loved the banquet table too!! The food was fantastic! It was commented on by everyone- everything was so delicious!! I wish I had eaten more!!
Our photos from Ben will be ready by the end of next month so if you like I can forward you some of the professional shots of the marquee set up. Thankyou for the nice compliments about my dress too- I was aiming just to look elegant with not too much detail. My dress was filthy dirty though and is costing me $450 to dry-clean!!!
Once again, thank you. You were a pleasure to liase with, answering my many emails and enquires. I would recommend Port Douglas Catering to anyone!! It's a place we will definately go back to regularly!!

“I would like to formally thank your innovative team at Port Douglas Catering for providing a superb luncheon for the Deputy Premier’s visit on Friday 30 November 2007.
As always, the food was fantastic and beautifully presented.
Specifically I wish to acknowledge the last minute requirements of this event. You may be aware that this luncheon saw an additional seven persons granted attendance by the Deputy Premier and notification was provided one hour prior to the luncheon commencing.
My office immediately contacted your Event Manager, Nicola Hood to seek how the additional persons could be accommodated. Nicola promptly responded advising that your Chef, Nicole “Pippi” Perrin could put together a couple of additional platters to accommodate the extra attendees.
It was not until later that I was advised Pippi and Nicola had worked an extremely long week to cater for three other major functions therefore I would like to take this opportunity to commend both Pippi and Nicola for their outstanding service in accommodating our small commitment at the last minute.” |

“We were very lucky with the preparation for our wedding as Port Douglas Catering organised the majority of it. We just had to organise the little things, which made our job easier.
We had the most amazing reception setting, underneath a massive Fig tree in Rex Smeal Park. As the sun set and the light started to fade, our guests were asked to assemble in front of the fig tree for a group photo. When the photographer's flash fired, the lights in and around the tree were switched on and the tree and dining area was revealed. Thanks to the brilliant Port Douglas Catering the Fig tree's branches were lit with fairylights, lanterns, and coloured lights to make the tree look magical. It actually looked how you would imagine Enid Blyton's 'Magic Faraway Tree'. To create some privacy we had white satin screens around the perimeter and bamboo citronella flares to light the path. Underneath the tree was the dining area of 12 tables seating 10 people at each & the bridal table. To make the bridal table stand out we had a massive chandelier hanging from a branch above the table and the table was also lit from beneath which made the it glow. The most special moment for Dan and I was the fireworks at the end of our reception and watching all our guests faces. They were all completely blown away. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

“We were overwhelmed with comments about the amazing food at the reception. We knew you guys were good but DAMN! Every single thing that came out of the kitchen was to die for. The wait staff were lucky not to get mobbed in some instances! I was constantly asked who the caterers were (cards have been distributed) and the following day every guest had a favourite canape to ooh and aah about. A credit to Pipi who worked away all night to the deafening disco tunes my friend Linda insisted on playing throughout the entire evening - that must have been torture!
And of course a big thank you to Nicola who was instrumental in making the evening as relaxed as we had hoped. Her attention to detail and her friendly & professional approach put everyone at ease. The service staff (I wish I could remember their names) were equally professional, gave special attention to all of our guests and made sure the Grand Parents were looked after which was very much appreciated. It was lovely to be greeted by name as we walked in the door as it made us feel like we had friends looking after us, which as it turns out we did because Chris knew everyone! No surprise there...

“Due to numerous allergies of the bride and one guest I Knew catering for our wedding was going to be hard. PDC handled this very well and the quality of food we received was five star – in particular our guests raved about the canapés and our wedding cake which tasted amazing. In addition the fact that on the night our coordinator Julie went out of her way to ensure we did not have to worry about a thing (even tending to the youngest guest of 8 weeks to ensure his parents could listen to the speeches) and made sure all we did was have a amazing night ensured our wedding day memories will be treasured forever.” - Shelley Myers |
